About Gisborne Coastguard

       
 
  Gisborne Volunteer Coastguard was formed in 1986
  • It evolved from Gisborne Jet Rescue Boat which had been operated by the Fire Service prior to that time..
  • Since that time Gisborne Coastguard has operated two boats, with the present boat purchased in 1998..
    It is due for replacement by a larger vessel in the next 2 years.
Gisborne Volunteer Coastguard is affiliated to Coastguard New Zealand and is a unit within the NZ Coastguard Eastern Region.
 
         
 
  Gisborne Coastguard's primary roles are:

  • It is manned by trained Volunteers ..
